Description
This Condrieu by Victor Berard is produced in the northern part of the Rhône Valley, on the right bank of the river, from vineyards situated on steep granite slopes with alluvial terraces. Obtained exclusively from Viognier, it best expresses the elegance and complexity of this prestigious appellation.
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo gentle pressing of the whole bunch, followed by a cold decanting for 48 hours. Fermentation occurs in barrels and tanks at low temperature with indigenous yeast for about four months. The wine then matures for nine months on the lees in French oak barriques and foudres, a transition that adds greater structure and aromatic depth.
In appearance, it presents a bright straw-yellow color. The bouquet is refined and complex, with notes of peach, juicy pear, and plum, enriched by hints of fresh almond, citrus, white flowers, and honey. On the palate, it is broad and fresh, perfectly aligned with the olfactory sensations, offering balance and persistence.
It pairs perfectly with scallops or asparagus risotto.
