Description
What kind of wine is it
Chorey-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir by Labouré-Roi is a still red wine made from Pinot Noir in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and aging continues in French oak barriques with a portion of new wood, offering a fruity profile with toasted accents and a balance designed for the dining table.
Where does it come from
The Chorey-lès-Beaune appellation lies between Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton in the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards cover about 130 hectares on the plain, at 250 metres altitude, facing southwest. The soils are alluvial limestone with gravel, iron, and sand, elements that help define its aromaticity and clarity of fruit.
How is it made
The Pinot Noir grapes are handpicked and selected, then destemmed. This is followed by a three-day cold maceration at 8 °C before ten days of fermentation in steel with daily punch-downs and pump-overs. Aging takes place for 15 months in French oak barriques, with a portion new, and ends with gentle filtration before bottling.
Tasting notes
To the eye, it shows a brilliant ruby red. The nose offers intense aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by elegant toasted notes due to the passage in barrique. On the palate, it is fruity and harmonious, with well-integrated wood supporting the character of Pinot Noir and a neat finish with good aromatic richness.
Food pairing
At the table, it naturally pairs with roasted or marinated poultry and grilled beef, thanks to its measured structure and fruity profile with toasted nuances. It is also suitable with fine charcuterie, savory pies, and French cheeses like Camembert and Brie, with which it harmonizes for balance and aromatic persistence.
When to serve it
Serve when you want a precise and harmonious red to share at the table. The combination of fruit and aging in barrique makes it ideal for informal dinners and occasions where you seek suitable matches with white meats, grilled dishes, and cheeses. Serving highlights its fruity notes and toasted nuances without weighing down the palate.
