Costa Toscana Rosso IGT 2016 La Regola

La Regola is the flagship wine of the homonymous winery and brings its name as a dowry. It comes from rows of Cabernet Franc that lie on soils of Mediterranean red earth with a good presence of stones.

The hand-picked and selected bunches are taken to the wine-making rooms where fermentation takes place in concrete vats with maceration on the skins. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for 18 months in new medium-toasted French oak barrels and for another 12 months in the bottle.

It reveals itself to the eye with a ruby red color. The range of aromas that envelops the nose tells a fruity profile in which notes of blackberry and blueberry stand out, embellished with notes of dried lavender, coffee and milk chocolate. The palate is characterized by ripe tannins and a long finish.

It goes well with stewed game and braised red meats. Try it in the company of a long seasoned pecorino.
