Description
Hauts de Bonpas from the Bonpas estate is a red wine made from Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan grapes grown on the Costières plateau, located between Nîmes and the Camargue region, in southern France. The name of the estate derives from "Bon passage," referring to the safe crossing of the Durance river, which once connected Rome to Avignon.
During vinification, all the grapes are destemmed and a portion is crushed to encourage "carbonic" fermentation. The extraction techniques are gentle, with minimal oxygen input, while the temperature is maintained at 25°C to allow the tannins to slowly infuse and preserve the aromas and flavors of the fruit.
The wine presents itself with an intense garnet color. The aromatic bouquet expresses pleasant notes of fresh red fruit, enriched by hints of licorice. On the palate, it is soft and full from the onset, with aromas reminiscent of red fruit and delicate spices. Velvety tannins support a rich and enveloping aromatic ensemble.
Ideal for pairing with stewed or grilled meats, lightly spiced vegetables, or blue cheeses.
