Description

The Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano by Donnafugata is a Sicilian wine produced from Carricante grapes cultivated in vineyards located between 600 and 750 meters above sea level, on the northern slopes of the Etna. The sandy soils of volcanic origin, the continental climate with Mediterranean influences, and the significant temperature variations between day and night give the wine a determined personality and a pronounced territorial identity.

The winemaking process involves manual harvesting with careful selection of the grapes, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. The aging process takes place for ten months mainly in tanks, with a small portion in second and third passage barriques. Subsequently, the wine matures for about sixteen months in the bottle before being marketed.

In appearance, it shows a straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose offers a complex bouquet with mineral notes, citrus hints of cedar and grapefruit, accompanied by white flowers, ginger, and vanilla. On the palate, it is enveloping, fresh, and savory, with a pleasant minerality and a long-lasting finish.

Ideal when paired with shellfish, fish-based dishes, vegetarian first courses, porcini mushrooms, or white meats.
