Etna Rosso DOC Erse 2017 Tenuta di Fessina
Description
Etna Rosso Erse is produced by the Tenuta di Fessina, a modern Sicilian winery located in Contrada Rovittello. Etna Rosso Erse di Fessina is made up of 90% of Nerello Mascalese and 10% of other Sicilian grapes, which grow at an altitude of approx. 700 above sea level
The harvest is done in October. After the soft destemming-crushing, the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with maceration times on the skins ranging from 6 to 9 days depending on the vintage. Ageing in the bottle is at least 12 months.
In the glass, the wine is a light ruby red colour. On the nose, there are aromas of wild berries, sweet spices (cloves and pink pepper). On the palate there are soft tannins and a good freshness, with a persistent finish.
Excellent with salami appetizers, pasta with tomato and black olives, roasted and grilled meats.
