Description
The Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova by Tasca d'Almerita is produced at the Tascante Estate, located on the northern slope of Mount Etna in the area of Randazzo. The vineyards, planted at an altitude of 730 meters, are situated on volcanic terraces with geological formations dating back to a period between 40,000 and 4,000 years ago, contributing to the strong territorial identity of the Nerello Mascalese cultivated in this unique area.
The vinification takes place with traditional red fermentation at temperatures ranging between 25 and 30 °C, for a duration of eight days. The malolactic fermentation is completely carried out. The wine matures for twelve months in Slavonian oak barrels, with a small percentage in French oak tonneaux, a process that enriches its balance and aromatic complexity.
It presents itself with an intense ruby color. The olfactory profile expresses notes of ripe red fruits, hints of aromatic herbs, and light spices, while on the palate it stands out for its elegant structure, velvety tannins, and a long and harmonious finish that recalls the minerality of Etna.
It pairs splendidly with grilled or roasted meat dishes, such as pork ribs or rabbit with rosemary.
