Description
What kind of wine it is
Fonzone Fiano di Avellino is a white wine made exclusively from Fiano grapes grown in Irpinia, in the municipality of Lapio. The vinification and ageing in stainless steel focus on freshness, balance and defined aromas, with a persistent finish and a pleasantly viscous final sensation.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in the municipality of Lapio, in the heart of Irpinia in Campania, a region historically linked to Fiano di Avellino. The manual harvesting and selection reinforce the connection with the plots of origin and a careful management of the raw material, aiming for aromatic clarity and expressive purity.
How it is made
The Fiano grapes are hand-picked and selected during the first ten days of October. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a low controlled temperature for about a month. Afterwards, the wine ages in steel for five months before bottling.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is delicate and orderly, with hints of citrus and orange blossom, followed by notes of linden and a touch of almond paste. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with a persistent and pleasantly viscous finish.
Food pairings
It pairs effortlessly with fish-based dishes and excels with oysters, thanks to its freshness and defined aromas. It is also suitable for preparations such as grilled vegetables, which enhance its balance without overpowering its aromas.
When to serve
It is suitable for lunch or dinner when a white wine with defined aromas and balanced freshness is desired. It works well as an aperitif at the table and during a meal focused on seafood dishes or grilled vegetable preparations, offering a clean taste and a persistence that accompanies the finish.
