Description
What type of wine is it?
Franciacorta Brut Rosé Santa Lucia is a Franciacorta made from Pinot Nero and Chardonnay grapes grown in Rodengo Saiano, Lombardy. This is a cuvée that offers structure and freshness, with a dry and well-defined style. The secondary fermentation takes place using the Traditional Method, guaranteeing a fine bubble and a balanced taste profile.
Where does it come from?
The grapes come from vineyards located in the municipality of Rodengo Saiano, in the heart of Franciacorta. The selection of parcels aims to enhance the unique character of the area and maintain a harmonious balance between tension and softness. The result is a rosé that expresses the territory with precision and drinkability.
How is it made?
Harvesting is manual and carried out at the right level of ripeness to preserve the aromatic expression. After a gentle pressing, the base wine ferments in stainless steel tanks and used oak barrels at a controlled temperature of 16 °C. This is followed by a second fermentation in the bottle with the Traditional Method, and ageing on the lees for at least 24 months, which imparts complexity and creaminess to the mousse.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows an onion skin pink colour and a fine, creamy mousse. The nose delivers clean notes of blackberry and raspberry, with a fresher vein that complements the fruit. The palate is balanced and enveloping, with a measured persistence that invites another sip.
Food pairings
At the table, it pairs naturally with appetizers and cured meats, where freshness and bubbles create a clean finish. It also suits red meat main courses and gourmet pizzas, supporting flavourful toppings without overwhelming the palate. Its structure makes it versatile throughout the meal.
When to serve it
This is a Franciacorta suitable both as an aperitif and with dinner, when a dry and precise rosé is desired. It shines when served well chilled, in glasses that enhance its finesse, freshness and persistence. Ageing on the lees offers a lively drinkability, perfect for accompanying several courses with balance.
