Description
What type of wine it is
This Franciacorta Brut produced by Santa Lucia is a Franciacorta made from selected Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the area. It is a cuvée with a fresh and elegant profile, built on the balance between lively acidity and measured creaminess. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle following the Traditional Method, with aging on the lees that contributes to its harmonious style at the table.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Franciacorta, in Lombardy, and are selected from 15 vineyards located in seven municipalities in the area. The diversity of soils and microclimates among the various plots contributes to a balanced result, able to clearly express the character of the territory through a tidy and consistent profile.
How it is produced
Harvesting is manual starting from the second week of August, with careful selection of the grapes. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 16°C in steel and used oak pièces, to preserve aromatic purity and add a touch of complexity. The base wines are vinified separately and then assembled into the cuvée; this is followed by bottle refermentation and aging on the lees for at least 18 months.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose reveals floral and fruity aromas, accompanied by notes of bread crust due to prolonged contact with the lees. The palate is balanced and harmonious, supported by pleasant freshness and measured persistence.
Food pairings
It is recommended as an aperitif thanks to its freshness and smoothness. Its balanced structure and continuous perlage also make it suitable for pairing with the entire meal when you desire a dry and straightforward Traditional Method wine. Its versatility allows for a wide range of pairings, without overpowering flavors at the table.
When to serve it
Best enjoyed on convivial occasions, from aperitif to dinner, when seeking a Franciacorta with a precise profile and easy to appreciate. The aging on the lees for at least 18 months and the attention to the cuvée support its balance, offering a harmonious and consistent sip from start to finish.
