Description
What kind of wine is it
Franciacorta Satèn Lovera is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown on north-east facing slopes. Produced with the Metodo Classico, it displays an elegant profile and silky texture. The structure remains balanced and its freshness supports a harmonious character, with aromatic complexity developing thanks to fermentation in stainless steel and prolonged aging on the lees.
Where it comes from
This Franciacorta originates in Erbusco, in the heart of Franciacorta in Lombardy. The vineyards are situated at around 300 meters, on loamy soils that ensure good drainage and proper water retention. The area is renowned for its long-standing use of the Metodo Classico.
How it is produced
The Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked with vineyard selection to preserve freshness and integrity. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel at controlled temperature and rests for ten months. This is followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle according to Metodo Classico, with aging on the lees for at least twenty-four months. The result offers a fine and persistent mousse, in line with the Satèn style.
Tasting notes
It appears a bright straw yellow with a fine and consistent perlage. The nose reveals notes of tropical fruit and white flowers with delicate toasted nuances. The palate is enveloping and creamy, balancing acidity with smoothness and a silky texture. The finish is harmonious with citrus and mineral hints, inviting another sip.
Food pairing
This Franciacorta Satèn pairs well with delicate fish dishes such as salmon tartare or sea bass carpaccio. Its softness is also suited to saffron risotto and risotto alla Monzese. Excellent with fresh soft cheeses and acacia honey, it also works with light vegetable tempura for a pleasant contrast.
When to serve it
Franciacorta Satèn Lovera should be served at 8–10°C in large tulip-shaped glasses to enhance its aromas and perlage. It is recommended to enjoy it young to appreciate its freshness, but it can evolve in the bottle for a few years, during which toasted notes and greater complexity develop without losing brilliance. Ideal for convivial moments or as an elegant aperitif.
