Description

What kind of wine is it

Torre Rosazza's Ribolla Gialla is a still white wine from the Colli Orientali del Friuli, made from Ribolla Gialla grapes. It stands out for its fresh and linear style, with a mineral touch and a clear fruity profile. Vinification takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation and a short aging on the lees, thus making the aromatic expression immediate, smooth, and precise.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from the Colli Orientali del Friuli, a hilly area renowned for its crisp and savory whites. Torre Rosazza’s vineyards are located between 120 and 150 meters above sea level on marl and sandstone soils that contribute to good drainage and aromatic concentration. The temperate climate, with marked temperature variations and ventilation, helps support acidity and aromatic clarity, with hints of citrus, light fruit, and a dry, saline finish.

How is it produced

The grapes are hand-picked and gently destemmed and softly pressed to preserve bright color and minimize phenolic extraction. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, ensuring delicate aromatic compounds remain intact. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for about four months on its lees, with careful management of the fine lees to enhance volume and stability. Before bottling, clarification is carried out to achieve a clean, essential profile.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays an intense straw yellow color, clear, with reflections that recall the ripeness of the grapes. On the nose, melon and citrus notes emerge, with subtle floral hints and a mineral trace reminiscent of wet stone and chalk. The palate is dry on entry with a fresh and slender progression, sustained by lively acidity and savoriness that prolongs the finish. Clean close with citrus and white fruit echoes.

Food pairings

Perfect as an aperitif thanks to its fresh and dry profile, it pairs well with delicate dishes based on herbs, vegetables, and grains. Excellent with herb risotto, prosciutto di San Daniele, and fresh or semi-mature cheeses. In seafood cuisine, it accompanies fish starters, carpaccio, and light fried dishes. The final savoriness also matches dishes with citrus notes or dressed with extra-virgin olive oil.

When to serve

It is best enjoyed when you desire an easy-to-drink white, suitable for informal occasions yet precise in aromas, from aperitif to the dinner table. Serve well-chilled between 8 and 10°C in medium-sized glasses to enhance citrus and light fruit notes. Designed for youthful drinking, it retains freshness and fragrance in its early years. With proper storage, it offers attractive short-term evolution, perfect for a light gastronomic season.
