Description
Jean-Pierre Guyon's Gevrey-Chambertin Les Platières owes its name to the location of the vineyards from which it originates, located on flat land at the foot of the hill, an area which takes the name of "Platère". The soil, characterized by limestone with clayey marl, is the base on which Pinot Noir vineyards of at least 60 years of age are planted, giving the wine a unique complexity and depth. The aging in wood for 15 months further enriches the organoleptic profile of the wine.
It has a fascinating purple-red color. The aromatic palette of this wine is an exaltation of red and dark fruits, with a predominance of currants and cherries, enriched by floral notes, pepper and leather, which blend in an elegant and finely woven harmony. On the palate it is deep and dense, with a robust tannic structure that supports a long and round finish.
Excellent to pair with lamb and sautéed vegetables. Try it with pepper tournedos and gratin dauphinois.
