Gioia del Colle DOC Girfalco 2013 Cantine Capotorto

Primitivo Girfalco was born in the splendid Apulian setting of Gioia del Colle, inside the vineyards of the Cantine Capotorto farm, near Bari. This wine represents a tribute to Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, who left in this area a sign of self.

It is produced entirely from Primitivo grapes, selected and harvested only by hand. The must is left to macerate on the skins for about 15 days at a constant temperature of 21 ° C. Finally the wine is decanted in steel and left to age for about 15 months before being bottled.

It is characterized by a deep ruby red color. The nose has a commendable finesse and a good olfactory complexity, with notes of red and black berry fruit that dominate the scene. In the mouth it shows a well-structured wine of great elegance, with a perfect balance between soft and hard elements that mask the high alcohol content very well. At the end of the mouth it offers pleasant and persistent spicy notes.

This wine finds its best expression in moments of meditation. It is also indicated in combination with important dishes based on grilled red meats, stewed meats and game.
