Description
What kind of wine is it?
Irpinia Falanghina Via del Campo di Quintodecimo is a still white wine made exclusively from Falanghina grapes grown in Irpinia, Campania. The winemaking process involves fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures and a measured passage in oak, intended to add structure without overpowering the wine's fruity and mineral profile.
Where does it come from?
This wine originates from a single-vineyard Falanghina cru located around Mirabella Eclano, in the heart of Irpinia. Here Quintodecimo crafts the grape with a clear and recognizable style, closely tied to its place of origin and the decision to work on a single parcel.
How is it made?
The grapes are hand-harvested and the must ferments in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. This is followed by a short stay in small oak barrels and partial maturation in new barriques before bottling, to integrate subtle toasted nuances and support the wine's texture.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a bright straw yellow tending towards gold. On the nose, there are notes of apple and pineapple, followed by aromatic herbs and wildflowers, with a mineral hint. On the palate, it is enveloping and structured, with delicate notes of menthol and a toasted touch from the time spent in oak, sustained by a savory finish.
Food pairings
This is a versatile white wine that naturally accompanies seafood appetizers and first courses based on fish. Its structure and savoriness make it ideal for seafood dishes where a balance between intensity and freshness is desired.
When to serve it
It’s suitable for a multi-course lunch or dinner when you want a white wine that is both precise and complete. Serve it chilled to enhance the fruit and herbaceous aromas and accentuate its oak integration, showcasing its structure without weighing down the palate.
