Description
Barilotti is produced by the Rubiu winery, founded in 1890, located in the Tallorga plain, in the province of Carbonia-Iglesias.
The wine is made up of Alicante and Carignano grapes, which are destemmed and macerated. Subsequently it is softly pressed and the must obtained is clarified by decanting. It then ferments at a controlled temperature in thermo-controlled stainless steel tanks. The refinement always takes place in steel on the fine lees and has a duration of approx. 6 months, ending with 2 months in the bottle.
In the glass it is dark ruby red. The nose expresses aromas of cherry, dried fruit and hints of Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it is warm and full-bodied, with a good persistence.
It goes well with roast beef and pork, cured meats and aged cheeses.
