Description

What kind of wine is it

Orgiolo by Marotti Campi is a red wine made from Lacrima grapes that grow in the area of Morro d’Alba. Fermentation in steel and aging in oak barrels lend the wine a fruity and spicy profile. The prolonged maceration enriches the structure and delivers silky tannins, for an elegant red distinguished by clear varietal aromas and a precise mineral imprint.

Where it comes from

This red takes shape on the hills of Morro d’Alba, in the province of Ancona. The vineyards sink their roots into clay-rich soil, a feature that imparts pronounced mineral sensations to the wine.

How it is made

The manual harvest takes place at the end of September using small crates to preserve the clusters. In the cellar, gentle pressing precedes a two-week skin maceration, essential for extracting color and aromas. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine rests for twelve months in used French oak barrels and completes its journey with six months in bottle, which harmonize its structure.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a deep ruby-red color enriched by bright violet highlights. The bouquet features floral and fruity aromas of rose and blackberry intertwined with hints of pink pepper and juniper berries, with a delicate touch of oriental spices. On the palate it expresses a fruit-driven core supported by an enveloping tannic texture, leading toward a clean finish with excellent length and flavor continuity.

Food pairing

Its spicy intensity pairs perfectly with elaborate first courses and roasted meats such as pork, lamb, or duck breast. The well-polished tannins enhance the succulence of rabbit and create an aromatic harmony of great balance. In keeping with Marche tradition, this red wine impeccably supports the rich flavors of Vincisgrassi, balancing the dish’s savoriness, and it also pairs well with Coniglio in potacchio.

When to serve it

Perfect for an autumn or winter dinner and for a hearty, convivial Sunday lunch. Ideal with meat dishes and traditional recipes from the Marche. Excellent as well for get-togethers with friends or special occasions when you want to celebrate conviviality and the local cuisine.
