Description
Produced by Tenuta San Leo, the Drusilla Rosso is a red wine made from Merlot grapes grown in the vineyards of the Castelli Romani. The medium-texture soils contribute to the wine's aromatic concentration and structural balance.
The harvest takes place from early to late September with alcoholic fermentation in steel at 25-26°C for about 20 days. After cold maceration on the skins at 7°C for 2-3 days, the wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and ages in the bottle.
It appears ruby red with violet hues. The nose reveals toasted notes, ripe red fruits such as black cherry and cherry, cocoa, and liquorice. On the palate, the tannins are soft yet present, with an elegant structure and a harmonious finish.
Ideal pairing with local cheeses and cured meats.
