Description
The Marche Rosso Pelago of Umani Ronchi was born in the Pelago vineyard of the same name, located in the municipality of Osimo.
It is produced 50% with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 40% with Montepulciano grapes and 10% with Merlot grapes, harvested only by hand during September and October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 27-29 ° C for 14-15 days on indigenous yeasts. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for a period of 14 months, and for a further 12 months in bottle.
Pelago is characterized by an impenetrable ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose opens with intense and refined aromas of spicy fragrances of coffee, black pepper, licorice and tobacco. On the palate it is pleasantly fruity, with aromas of berries, vanilla and mineral aromas. The wine has important tannins, which give pleasant taste sensations.
Perfect to accompany red meats and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
