Description

The Marche Rosso Villa Castiglioni was born on the hilly terrain of Matelica, between Macerata and Ancona.

It is produced 80% with Sangiovese grapes and 20% with Merlot grapes, with maceration in steel tanks at controlled temperature for 15 days with daily pumping over. The refinement of this wine takes place partly in oak barrels and partly in steel, for 12 months. Finally, the wine is further refined in the bottle for 6 months.

Villa Castiglioni has an intense ruby red color with garnet hues. The scent is pleasant and fruity, with notes of black cherry and black currant and mineral and vanilla nuances. On the palate it is soft and round, quite tannic. Overall it is a warm and enveloping wine, with a good flavor and a pleasant persistence.

Perfect to accompany first courses with meat ragu, it is ideal in combination with red meats, game and braised meats.
