Maremma Toscana IGT Arnaio 2011 Valdonica Winery
Description
Arnaio was born in the Valdonica Winery vineyards, located in Roccastrada, immersed in the hilly landscape of the Tuscan Maremma. This wine shows very interesting characteristics because, with a garnet color, more inclined to more advanced wines, it opposes a young and extremely lively taste.
This wine is mainly made with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested and selected manually from the Valdonica and Sassofortino vineyards. The product, after the usual vinification processes, is left to mature for 18 months in medium toasted oak barriques and then move on to aging in glass for another 12 months.
In fact, Arnaio has a garnet color. The nose opens with vegetable notes and slight references to green pepper, typical of Cabernet, to then express elegant aromas of red and purple fruits, expressions of Sangiovese. In the mouth it is fine and interesting, with a nice acidity and young tannins that do not make it perceive the 14 ° of alcohol content.
It goes very well with elaborate appetizers and first courses with meat ragout. Also excellent with refined and fairly fatty meats and well-aged cheeses.
