Description
Margaux du Château de Malleret is an elegant red wine produced in the heart of the Médoc, on an estate spanning 3.67 hectares characterized by Günzian gravel soils. The vines, with an average age of 20 years, benefit from an ideal environment for the optimal maturation of the grapes. The winery adopts sustainable viticulture practices, integrating rational pest management and biocontrol to preserve the vineyard's health and fruit quality.
Vinification is carried out plot by plot, with gravity-fed filling and a careful manual selection of grapes, followed by destemming and sorting through a densimetric table. During fermentation, conducted in thermoregulated concrete and wooden vats, pigeage is performed to best extract aromas and structure. The cuvaison period lasts three to four weeks, and aging occurs for twelve months in barrels, 50% of which are new, with suitable final clarification.
In the glass, this Margaux reveals a refined aromatic profile with hints of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, and light toasted notes imparted by the wood. On the palate, it stands out for its balanced structure, well-integrated tannins, and a pleasant taste persistence, an authentic expression of the terroir and the estate's savoir-faire.
Perfectly paired with grilled or roasted red meats, particularly beef fillet or lamb with herbs.
