Marlborough Pinot Noir GI 2020 Black Cottage
Description
The Pinot Noir Marlborough from New Zealand's Black Cottage winery is produced with grapes from the Southern Valley.
After harvesting and destemming, the grapes are left to ferment in open containers with 20% of the whole bunches and manual punching down. This procedure allows to preserve the aromatic fragrance of the berries and to increase the velvety sensation on the palate. The wine is left to mature in oak for 3 months before bottling.
Medium intensity ruby red, the wine releases aromas of undergrowth, cherry and bitter notes of chocolate and coffee beans. On the palate the exuberance of dried herbs returns with thyme and peppery notes that contribute to making the texture compact and elegant, finished by a good acidity and a long finish.
Perfect for red meats and game, it is ideal for mushroom-based first courses and cured meats such as speck.
