Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc GI Ram's Hill 2018 Mount Nelson
Description
Ram's Hill can rightly be considered Mount Nelson's special reserve. He too was born in the exceptional vineyard selected by Lodovico Antinori and the winemaker Helena Lindberg in the Wairau Valley, in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand. An area particularly conducive to the growth of the Sauvignon Blanc variety, for its mild daytime temperature, which never exceeds 24 ° C, even in the hottest seasons, and for the very happy sun exposure.
It is a wine that ferments 75% in second passage wooden barrels and the remaining part in steel. Part of the mass remains on the lees in barrique, while 70% malolactic fermentation. The result is a rich and creamy wine, perfectly contrasted by the acid components of freshness.
Bright straw yellow color, the nose moves on intense fruity notes of grapefruit and peach enriched with floral sensations and a slight spiciness developed following the passage in oak. The palate is full-bodied and consistent, with fruity aromas of excellent concentration, brought to an enviable gustatory balance by a delicate verve of freshness.
Ideal to accompany feta and goat cheeses in general, as well as seafood and vegetarian dishes.
