Description

The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Collezione del Conte from Filicaja originates in Tocco da Casauria from vineyards with 100% Montepulciano grapes, growing on clayey soil that gives the wine a splendid minerality.

The harvest takes place in the first days of October through a careful and meticulous manual selection of the bunches. It ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature and then matures for 3 months in wooden barrels.

It has a deep ruby red color with light purple hues, leaving a pleasant sensation of velvet on the palate. Intense and complex on the nose, with notes of ripe red fruit fading towards jam aromas. Pleasantly spicy, with hints of licorice, vanilla, and toast; robust, fairly tannic, balanced, persistent, and harmonious.

Due to its complex structure and splendid organoleptic profile, it pairs well with meat dishes like lamb, red meats, and arrosticini, as well as aged cheeses and dark chocolate. Perfect as an accompaniment to a fine cigar.
