Description

The Morellino di Scansano Ghiaccioforte of Castello Romitorio is born in vineyards located in the heart of the municipality of Scansano. The vineyards from which this wine is obtained lie a few hundred meters away from the ancient ruins of the Etruscan settlement Ghiaccio Forte, so named after the brave Etruscan warrior who was able to resist the imperial expansion of Rome.

It is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, selected and finally de-stemmed. They ferment in stainless steel tanks and requires two weeks of contact with the skins.

It is characterized by a bright ruby red color. The nose opens with hints of rose and cherry, with mineral notes. On the palate it is elegant, pleasantly full-bodied and well structured, with ripe tannins.

Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with stewed and roasted meats.
