Maximin Grūnhaus' Abstsberg Spätlese Grosse Lage comes from the most important vineyards of the estate located north of Trier and far from the Moselle river.

The Abstsberg vineyard enjoys a perfect south-southwest exposure and a considerable slope, both conditions that help the grapes to ripen and keep them in perfect condition. With 14 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of Riesling grapes that arrive immediately in the cellar for spontaneous fermentation at a controlled temperature and in steel containers or wooden barrels. These are the precautions that help preserve the herbaceous and mineral character of Riesling.

Straw yellow in color, it is a slender and precise wine, with aromas of fresh fruit, a firm body and a refined savory component on the palate. With an acidity that optimally balances the sugars, it maintains a long persistence and great freshness.

Perfect as a wine for aperitifs based on spicy cheeses, it elegantly accompanies dishes based on vegetables, white meats and foie gras
