Description
Produced in the prestigious region of Rutherford, Napa Valley, this red wine embodies the most authentic expression of the balance and complexity that distinguish the Quintessa estate. The wine is the result of a careful selection within the various blocks of the vineyard, born from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, cultivated according to organic principles and biodynamic practices. The sustainable philosophy adopted since 1989 gives the production a deeply territorial respect.
The vinification involves a maceration with an average skin contact of 22 days, useful for extracting structure and aromatic complexity. The aging takes place for 22 months in barriques, part of which in new French oak, in neutral wood, and a small part in terracotta amphorae. This process promotes the evolution of the wine, maintaining a perfect integration between the wood and the fruit, with a harmonious development of the aromas and structure.
On the nose, intense floral scents of violet and lilac emerge, introducing a complex bouquet of black currant, dark cherry, anise, bay leaf, and underbrush notes. The sip is bold, supported by fine, well-integrated tannins, with a flavor profile that combines dark berries with aromatic herbs, graphite, and a hint of mineral iron. The finish is long, chalky, and enveloping, a testament to the wine's depth and refinement.
Ideal when paired with grilled red meat dishes or structured roasts.
