Description
The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Madonna della Querce by Caterina Dei is a red wine of great depth and elegance, produced in the renowned La Piaggia vineyard located at 370 meters above sea level. Made from Sangiovese grapes, it fully expresses the identity of the Montepulciano territory thanks to Pliocene-origin soils, rich in tuffaceous clays and sands. This wine represents the perfect synthesis of tradition, viticultural precision, and longevity potential.
Vinification begins with a careful manual selection of grapes, followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 26 and 28°C, while the maceration on the skins lasts for 28-30 days, with frequent pump-overs. Subsequently, the wine matures for at least 20 months in large barrels and is further refined in the bottle, achieving a structure suitable for long aging.
It appears a deep and intense ruby red in color. The aromatic profile is broad and complex, dominated by hints of ripe red fruits and jam, with spicy nuances in the background. On the palate, it is ethereal, long, and mineral, with dense and elegant tannins that confer structure and finesse, offering a harmonious and persistent drink.
It pairs elegantly with important dishes based on red meat, stewed game, and mature cheeses with a strong flavor.
