North Coast Shiraz 2013 Clos du Bois
Description
The Clos du Bois Shiraz (Syrah) was born in the vineyards of the American estate on the North Coast, California.
This wine is produced exclusively with Syrah grapes, harvested and selected in September. After destemming and an eight-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, it is left on the skins to begin malolactic fermentation in cask. After this process, the wine is stored in French, American and Eastern European oak barrels, where it ages for about nine months, before being drawn off and then bottled.
Clos du Bois Shiraz has a very intense ruby red color. Fruity aromas of blackberry and blueberry emerge on the nose, with spicy sensations typical of the grape variety, which bring the mind back to the mocha. In the mouth it shows an important structure wine, where aromas of black berry fruit and toasted oak memories return. All this is supported by a lively freshness and excellent roundness, which smooth the tannins and help drinking.
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats and game, it also goes very well with well-aged hard cheeses.
