Description
The Ornellaia white wine, a splendid blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, owes its elegant Mediterranean style to the unique microclimate of the estate.
A bottled masterpiece born from the utmost attention to detail, starting with the early harvest, which is essential to preserve the aromatic freshness. After the selection of the bunches, the grapes are softly pressed. After a static decantation of about 24 hours, the musts were placed in barriques, 30% new and 70% used, to carry out the alcoholic fermentation at a temperature not exceeding 22°C. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out. The wine then ages for 12 months on the lees with periodic batonnage throughout the period and is concluded in steel tanks for a further 3 months. Before bottling, the various lots were assembled and lightly clarified. The wine then underwent a further refinement in the bottle for 6 months before being placed on the market.
In the glass it has a beautiful bright straw yellow colour. On the nose it expresses a large bouquet of exotic fruits and hints of citrus. The sip is fresh, silky, with a long and elegant finish.
This wine goes very well with both raw fish and Catalan lobster.
