Description

What type of wine it is

Viña Esmeralda by Torres is a white wine from Penedès made from Moscatel and Gewürztraminer. This historic label offers an aromatic and fresh style, with a soft and harmonious texture. Vinification is designed to preserve the purity of the fruit, using stainless steel, temperature control, and oxygen protection, with no wood aging involved.

Where it comes from

This wine comes from Catalonia, in the Penedès area near the Catalan coast. The vineyards benefit from the Mediterranean breeze, a local feature that brings freshness and clarity to the aromas. The rose bushes around the vines symbolize the delicacy and floral character that mark the wine.

How it is made

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 16°C for about two weeks, to highlight the natural aromatic expression of the grapes. The process is carried out without oxygen, a technical choice that ensures cleanliness and aroma precision. There is no wood aging, in order to bring out the varietal characteristics and a fragrant, balanced profile.

Tasting notes

In the glass it appears as a bright straw yellow. On the nose, it is well-defined, with scents of rose and fruity hints of lychee, in line with the nature of the aromatic grapes. On the palate it is soft and harmonious, with a smooth sip. The finish is sweet, reminiscent of acacia honey, and offers a consistent aromatic persistence.

Food pairing

At the table, it naturally pairs with seafood starters, fish dishes, and pâté, thanks to its softness and its floral and fruity traits that complement delicate or gently savory recipes. It also goes well with Asian cuisine, where its varietal aromas can harmonize with aromatic ingredients while maintaining balance.

When to serve

It is the right choice when looking for an aromatic and fragrant white wine, ideal for social occasions and meals focused on seafood and delicate flavors. The stainless-steel vinification, with no wood and protected from oxygen, allows for an immediate scent expression and a harmonious sip, with a distinctively sweet finish.
