Penedès DO Reserva Real 2020 Torres

Reserva Real is a high-end red wine produced by Familia Torres in the Alt Penedès area, in Catalonia. It originates from the small Les Arnes vineyard, spanning just 4 hectares, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc are grown. The soils, composed of Silurian schists of Paleozoic origin, are unique in the region and ensure excellent drainage and marked minerality, ideal elements for the cultivation of these international grape varieties. This exclusive wine was created on the occasion of the visit to the winery by His Majesty King Emeritus Juan Carlos I in 1995.

The vinification involves maceration on the skins for 15-20 days with alcoholic fermentation for 7 days at a controlled temperature of about 26°C. Aging takes place in new French oak barrels for a period of 18 months, with the aim of enhancing the wine's aging potential, while preserving its aromatic purity and depth of flavor.

To the eye, it displays a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses an intense and complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, balsamic notes, sweet spices, and toasted hints. On the palate, it shows great structure and depth, with dense and silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, enveloping finish that confirms its propensity for aging.
