Piemonte DOC Barbera Largé 2010 La Raia
Description
The Piedmont Barbera Largé of La Raia was born in vineyards located in Novi Ligure, in the heart of Piedmont.
It is produced exclusively with Barbera grapes, harvested only by hand in mid-October. After destemming, the must ferments in the presence of the peel, with natural yeasts. The alcoholic fermentation continues slowly for 15 days and the must remains in contact with its skins for another ten days. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for 18 months, before being bottled.
The Largé is characterized by an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose opens with a large and intense bouquet, with hints of chocolate, enriched with pleasant notes of blackberry and dog rose. On the palate it is full, full-bodied and pleasantly harmonious. The wine has balanced tannic sensations, with pleasant sweet and persistent aftertaste notes.
Perfect to accompany roasts and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
