Description
What kind of wine it is
Pomerol from Ch 2eau La Conseillante is a red wine made from estate vineyards, each vinified separately in parcels. Fermentation takes place in steel vats and aging continues in French oak, with a precisely managed proportion of new wood. The result is a dry, elegant style, defined in structure and with fine tannins, designed to deliver a clear and consistent aromatic profile.
Where it comes from
The wine is produced at Ch 2eau La Conseillante, named after Madame Conseillan, from whom the estate takes its denomination in the mid-18th century. In 1871, the château was acquired by the Nicolas family, who have managed it for five generations. The vineyards are organized into 18 parcels, allowing precise management of different harvesting and vinification units.
How it is made
Vinification is carried out separately for each of the 18 parcels. Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation take place in 18 steel vats, with a technically precise approach. After fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barrels; since 2010 the use of new wood has been reduced and is maintained according to cellar decisions.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it presents a medium-intensity purple red color, compact and bright in hue. On the nose, you detect aromas of Violet and Cherry, followed by hints of dark chocolate, cinnamon stick, and liquorice, within a clearly defined aromatic framework. The sip is dry and elegant, with fine tannins and a long, fresh, fragrant finish that keeps the palate feeling clean.
Food pairings
Naturally pairs with flavorful red meat dishes, where juiciness meets a fine tannic structure. It is also well-suited to fine poultry and game, where the intensity of the dish harmonizes with the wine’s spicy notes and dry character. It excels with braised dishes enriched with herbs and spices, providing lasting freshness through the finish.
When to serve
Ideal whenever you desire a dry, elegant red that can seamlessly accompany a meal based around meat and rich preparations. Its structure and fine tannins sustain the drinking experience without losing momentum, while the fresh finish ensures clarity after each bite. It’s perfect for lunches and dinners where braised, herb- and spice-laden dishes call for persistence and fragrance.
