Description

Quinta da Leda is a Vintage Port of the incomparable Ferreira, produced in the homonymous estate of Almendra. It is the result of precise clonal research and the cultivation of vineyards on the terraced slopes of the Upper Douro, whose favorable exposure allows optimal ripening of the grapes and offers the possibility of developing character and depth.

The bunches, transferred only by gravity, are fermented in separate batches by variety inside steel tanks and with accurate temperature control. The process is stopped by adding alcohol when the desired alcohol content is reached. It follows a rather short aging in new French oak barrels, of 12 months, despite which it becomes a long-lived port, able to challenge the passing of time.

Its color is intense and vibrant ruby red. The sense of smell is centered on evolved aromas of leather that add up to fruity hints and withering flowers. It is a harmonious port and characterized by a complex tannic structure.

Excellent both as a meal finish or as an accompaniment to blue cheeses or with dried fruit.
