Description
The Primitivo di Manduria Familiae originates from the Troncarea and Mesola delle Volpi district, located on the Salento coast at about 100 meters above sea level. Very hot area with low rainfall, ideal for the cultivation of primitive grapes.
The grapes are harvested in the first ten days of September. The must carries out a macerative fermentation at controlled temperature. Followed by aging in French and American oak barrels for 6 months.
It has a ruby red color with purple reflections. Excellent decisiveness and power on the nose, in which hints of plum and ripe cherry stand out, perfectly integrated with notes of vanilla and cocoa. On the palate it is a wine with a great structure, with an alcoholic softness that drags on a finish of long sweetness.
A wonderful companion for robust first courses and lamb, it goes well with game menus and hard cheeses.
