Description
La Font del Mosquit by Bodega Bravo Escós is a white wine made from Macabeu and Garnacha Blanca grapes grown in the vineyards of Torroja del Priorat. The Macabeu vines, some of which are over a hundred years old, grow on complex soils composed of schist, clay-limestone stones, and alluvial soils, following sustainable farming practices in organic conversion. The name of the wine recalls a natural spring that crosses the rows, evoking a delicate and poetic image.
The old Macabeu grapes are macerated on the skins for 12 hours before pressing, while the younger Macabeu and Garnacha Blanca grapes are pressed directly. The musts are then assembled and undergo spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The end of fermentation and maturation takes place in polyethylene containers, a choice that helps maintain the fruit expressiveness.
The aromatic profile is discreet, dominated by hints of white citrus fruits and anise seeds, enriched by a mineral nuance that recalls the slate of the vineyards. On the palate, it opens with volume and roundness, supported by a fine acidity. The citrus and floral notes give brightness and liveliness, making the sip generous and satisfying.
Ideal pairing with grilled fish dishes, raw seafood, or vegetarian preparations with an aromatic profile.
