Description
10 Meses by Portia is a lively and versatile red wine from Ribera del Duero, obtained from Tempranillo grapes grown in vineyards located in the "Golden Triangle" area, between the municipalities of Gumiel de Mercado and Gumiel de Izán. The vines stand on predominantly sandy soils, at an altitude between 800 and 850 meters, ensuring a slow and complete ripening of the clusters. The yield is kept low to benefit the aromatic concentration of the wine.
The winemaking process involves fermentation at controlled temperatures in conical vats to promote a delicate and precise extraction of aromas. The wine then ages for 10 months in American oak barrels, a step that imparts softness, structure, and pleasant toasted nuances. The entire process aims to preserve the varietal identity of the Tempranillo, enriching it with elegance.
In the glass, it displays a bright purple color. The nose is intense and rich with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, floral notes of violet, vanilla, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is balanced, with ripe fruit, hints of cedar, and slight smokiness. The tannins are velvety, the body is medium, and the finish is long, with spicy aromas reminiscent of cinnamon and pepper.
Ideal with grilled meats such as fillet, lamb chops, pork loin, meat paella, tapas with jamón, chorizo or aged cheeses.
