Description

L'Áster Reserva is a red wine produced by Viñedos y Bodegas Áster, made from 100% Tinta del País grapes cultivated in the vineyards surrounding the winery in Anguix, in the Ribera del Duero. As a result of careful selection, it represents the essence and typicity of this prestigious designation, combining intensity, elegance, and great aging potential.

The harvest is carried out manually in crates, followed by an optical selection of the berries. After 15 days of fermentation and maceration, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, with weekly bâtonnage for two months. Aging continues for 16 months, 75% in new French oak barrels and the remaining 25% in two-year-old barrels, with three traditional racking operations before bottling.

In appearance, it shows an intense, brilliant black cherry color with deep ruby reflections. On the nose, it reveals high complexity, with notes of ripe black fruit and wild berries, complemented by aromas from aging such as licorice, cloves, pepper, and toasted bread. On the palate, it is powerful, with soft tannins, an excellent balance between acidity and alcohol, and a long, decisive, and complex finish.

It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, flavorful roasts, and aged cheeses.
