Description
The Gala Reserva by Bodegas Portia is a red wine of great personality produced in the Ribera del Duero, made from Tempranillo grapes sourced from selected parcels in the area known as the "Golden Triangle," located at an altitude of 850 meters. The vineyards, with an average age of 30 years, grow on soils rich in clay and limestone, and manual harvesting in small crates ensures maximum respect for the integrity of the grape.
The winemaking process involves a double manual selection of the bunches and fermentation in conical vats for a delicate extraction of aromas. The wine ages for 17 months in new French oak barrels, with medium and medium-strong toastings. Maturation continues in the bottle for a total aging period of over four years. Thanks to the innovative construction of the underground cellar, no artificial stabilization is necessary.
It presents a deep ruby red color to the eye. The nose offers a profound and layered bouquet with ripe black fruits, such as black cherry and blackberry, accompanied by balsamic notes, aromatic herbs, sweet spices, tobacco, and toasty notes. The palate is rich, medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, elegant finish with spicy accents and a touch of dark chocolate.
Ideal with flavorful meat dishes, such as grilled lamb, beef ribs, roasts, or stews, but also pairs perfectly with spicy risottos and Iberian cured meats.
