Description

What type of wine is it

Viñedos de Salinillas de Buradón from the Lindes de Remelluri line is a red wine from Rioja, made from a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and minor varieties. It offers a structured style with ripe tannins and well-integrated freshness. It ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts and then undergoes malolactic fermentation. The twelve months of aging in French oak barrels enhance its deep terroir expression.

Where it comes from

The grapes grow in Salinillas de Buradón, in the Rioja Alavesa, in vineyards bordering the historic Remelluri estate. The southern exposure and altitude between 563 and 578 meters create a dynamic and clean profile. The soils rich in quartz, ferric red clay, and blue marl give a clear mineral texture, bringing out the climatic and geological features of this particular village.

How it's produced

Vinification begins with careful harvesting from the village vineyards. The spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel with native yeasts preserves the varietal character. The subsequent malolactic fermentation consolidates the structure and harmonizes the acidity. The process is completed with aging in French oak barrels of various sizes, integrating the wood without altering the site's identity.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it reveals a ruby color of good intensity. The nose is marked by ripe dark fruit aromas, such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by floral and spicy hints. Subtle mineral nuances add depth to the fruity profile. On the palate, it is vibrant and flavorful, led by mature and expressive tannins that give way to a long finish and demonstrate a fine balance between structure and freshness.

Food pairings

Its firm structure and well-defined tannins make it ideal for grilled red meats and spiced roasts. Its savory notes and long persistence pair easily with slow-cooked dishes, where the dark fruit complements each bite. It pairs perfectly with regional recipes such as cordero asado and traditional chuletillas al sarmiento, ensuring a harmonious and balanced match.

When to serve it

This label is ideal when you want a Rioja wine that blends energy and solidity. It shines during meat-based dinners or convivial occasions that call for a red wine with both smoothness and aromatic breadth. Its clear single-village identity makes it suitable for those who value definition and balance, offering a vibrant, flavorful sip that complements the meal with poise.
