Romagna Sangiovese Riserva DOC Ombroso 2013 Giovanna Madonia

"Ombroso" is a red based on Sangiovese, produced in Romagna.

The vineyards used, with 25 years of age on their shoulders, extend over an area of 6 hectares defined by limestone-clay soil, at an altitude of 250 - 300 meters above sea level. It is harvested manually only in the best vintages, then sent to alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks. then continue with aging in barrique and tonneaux for 12 - 15 months. After filtration, it is bottled and marketed after 2 months of bottle aging.

Intense ruby red, at sight. Notes of blackberry, licorice, chocolate and aromatic herbs chase each other in an olfactory complexity. In the mouth it is tannic and fresh but at the same time soft and well managed in balance. A good structure supports the articulated sip.

Perfect together with a fillet of beef with Sangiovese reduction.
