Description
This Rosso di Montalcino by Sassetti was born in one of the historic cellars of the Montalcino area, which has been cultivating these lands for several generations, producing wines with a classic profile.
The soils are of a calcareous-clayey nature, rich in marl and alberese, particularly suited to the needs of Sangiovese. At the end of the harvest, the best grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration on the skins for 10–15 days. Ageing takes place for 6 months in steel vats, and ends for 6 months in the bottle.
The wine is intense ruby red and gives aromas of plum, ripe cherries, violet with a herbaceous finish. On the palate, its delicate finesse and soft tannins are noted. The sip ends with a pleasant freshness.
To be combined with tasty salami appetizers, first courses with meat sauce and second courses of red meats.
