Description
Rosso Piceno Bulciano di Villa Forano comes from vineyards located on the hills of Appignano, in the province of Macerata.
It is produced with Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, harvested by hand during the second decade of October, then subjected to a scrupulous selection in the cellar. The grapes ferment in wooden vats with punching down and temperature piloting for about 15 days, then undergo a post-fermentative maceration for another 10 - 12 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine ages in third - fourth passage barriques for about 16 - 24 months, then refines in bottle for 8 - 10 months.
Bulciano has a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with spicy notes of vanilla, leather and tobacco, enriched with hints of morello cherry, jam and fruit in alcohol. In the mouth it is dry, fairly fresh and soft, with a remarkable intensity and persistence of taste. Wine of excellent structure and excellent volume, it has ripe and well concentrated tannins.
Perfect to accompany main courses based on white and red meats, such as lamb with mushrooms and kid, it is ideal in combination with game, game and mature cheeses.
