Description

What kind of wine is it

Calafuria Pink x Pantone by Tormaresca is a rosé wine from Salento made from Negroamaro grapes, offered in magnum. It stems from a chromatic study conducted with the Pantone Color Institute, inspired by the hue of Negroamaro and the light of the Salento coast. The result is a pale, bright pink midway between pink and peach, more vivid than a pastel and softer than a mid-tone, with a fresh, harmonious, convivial style.

Where it comes from

The grapes grow along the Salento coast, in Puglia, in vineyards influenced by the Mediterranean climate and the proximity of the sea. This location lends the wine freshness and salinity. Tormaresca, a winery of the Antinori family, works in Puglia with two estates, Bocca di Lupo in the Murgia barese and Masseria Maìme in Salento, where it cultivates native varieties.

How it is made

The harvest takes place during the coolest hours of the day to preserve aromas and freshness. After gentle pressing, a brief maceration on the skins gives the wine its signature delicate color. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to retain fragrance and balance, followed by a short ageing on its lees, also in steel.

Tasting notes

In the glass it is pale and bright pink. On the nose, notes of strawberry, cherry and pomegranate are joined by floral hints and subtle citrus nuances. On the palate it is fresh and harmonious, with good salinity and a pleasing suppleness, and it closes on a delicate, lingering finish.

Food pairings

Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs naturally with fish dishes and shellfish, Mediterranean cuisine, vegetables and light appetizers. Its freshness and salinity also make it a good partner for fresh cheeses and fried fish.

When to serve it

It is a rosé for aperitif and at the table, suited to summer dinners, outdoor lunches and convivial gatherings. The magnum format, presented in a case with graphics inspired by Pantone, makes it ideal for large tables and as a gift idea.
