Description

Salento Negroamaro Morgicchio was born in the vineyards of the Tormaresca farm, owned by the Antinori family and located in Puglia, on the hills of S. Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi.

It is produced exclusively with Negroamaro grapes, harvested slightly overripe at the end of September to enhance their phenolic potential. Once the grapes are crushed, the fermentation process begins in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 25-27 ° C. The maceration lasts 15-18 days, with frequent pumping over and soft de-aging to obtain a gradual and balanced extraction. Subsequently the wine is placed in French and Hungarian oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, for about 9 months. Then the wine rests in the bottle for 12 months.

Morgicchio is a wine with an intense ruby red color. The nose has hints of small red berry fruits and an interesting floral component accompanied by pleasant balsamic and spicy nuances. In the mouth it is full, dry and round, balanced by a good acidity and elegant tannins.

Perfect in combination with grilled and roasted red meats, this wine is ideal for accompanying long and medium-aged cheeses.
