Description

Cantone is a pure Piedirosso produced by the La Guardiense winery, located in Sannio Beneventano, in Campania.

The Piedirosso grapes are harvested from a vineyard of 3 hectares, planted on a calcareous clay soil at an altitude of 250 meters. Following an alcoholic fermentation in steel and a malolactic fermentation in barriques, the wine ages for 15 months in the latter.

The intense ruby red color is echoed by a bouquet marked by red and black fruit such as blackberry and morello cherry, on a spicy background of vanilla and black pepper. In the mouth it is fresh and structured, with a moderate tannic presence and a saline persistence.

Perfect to accompany legume soups or a rabbit alla cacciatora.
