Serrapetrona DOC Carpignano 2013 Fontezoppa
Description
Carpignano was born in the vineyards of Cantine Fontezoppa, located in the Serrapetrona DOC, in the province of Macerata.
Obtained exclusively from Vernaccia Nera grapes, an autochthonous grape of the Macerata province, Carpignano develops its characteristics after vinification and maturation in steel, followed by about 1 year of aging in bottle, before being put on the market.
It shows a ruby red color of good intensity and liveliness. The nose has an original and captivating scent of wild cherry and plum, which is followed by a strong note of black pepper and fresh balsamic hints at the end. In the mouth it shows a light body, accompanied by delicate tannins and sensations of sweet spices that open to a persistent finish.
Thanks to its characteristics, Carpignano di Fontezoppa goes well with spicy dishes and cold cuts, typical of the local cuisine but also of the Middle Eastern one. Excellent with blue cheeses.
