Description
What kind of wine is it
Ronna by Terre di Giurfo is a Sicilian red wine made from Syrah, vinified with skin maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled steel, then further aged in steel. The result is a red wine that offers a fruity and spicy profile, with a full structure and moderate tannins, designed to deliver a clear and immediate impression both in the glass and at the table.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the Terre di Giurfo estate, located in southeastern Sicily, along the valley of the Dirillo river, between Licodia Eubea and the Iblea area. The origin is identified as Sicily, and the context of the valley helps define the style of the wine, consistent with a fruit and spice expression typical of the grape variety.
How it is produced
The Syrah grapes are harvested in mid-September. Vinification takes place with skin maceration in temperature-controlled steel tanks, to extract color and tannic components in a controlled manner. After fermentation, the wine is aged in steel, with no wood contact, preserving a clear varietal identity and a sip that is bold yet balanced.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of red fruits and a well-defined spicy note emerge. On the palate, the entry is full and harmonious; the tannic texture is moderate and supports the progression without weighing it down, with a balance that links fruit and spice.
Food pairing
At the table, it pairs naturally with red meats, roasts, and flavorful cured meats, where its structure and moderate tannins complement the juiciness. It is also suitable for pairing with aged cheeses, enhancing the fruity profile and spicy notes in dishes with bold flavors.
When to serve it
It is recommended when you want a full and harmonious red for lunches and dinners based on meat, cured meats, or cheese. The steel aging emphasizes a direct expression of fruit and spices, making it ideal for convivial occasions when you seek a Syrah with clarity and moderate tannins.
